Pros:

·         It can make students be independent since they have to do everything themselves. They cannot depend their lives on their parents of friends.

·         There are many other people in the boarding house, especially roommates. It forces students to share with them. Of course it is good to eliminate selfishness.

Cons:

·         Students are out of their parents’ control. They are free to do something, including bad attitudes.

·         If a student has a roommate who is annoying, it will disturb him/her.

            Furthermore, the presence of an animal in the home may provide a greater feeling of security in addition to this, pets often play a major role in disabled people’s lives.

            Taking everything into account, the pros and the cons are rather balanced. There are both good and bad sides to keeping a pet. Everything depends on the character of the individual pet owner, what he particularly relishes. The relations between animals and humans are as diverse and complicated as they are between people themselves.

            Pets have accompanied mankind since the dawn of history. The domestication of animals began in the Neolithic Revolution 10-12 thousand years ago. People either love or hate this companionship. There are advantages and disadvantages to having a pet, which are discussed below.

            Nevertheless, keeping a pet involves many responsibilities. First, there are extra costs involved. The pet owner needs to budget fot his pet’s food, equipment (cages, aquarium, etc.) and veterinary care.

            One major advantage of having pets is that they can substitute for people and become one of people’s nearest and dearest companions. For instance, if someone lives alone he will find a pet very enjoyable.

            Apart from this, if a person decides to buy a pet, he will certainly lie himself up with this animal: from that moment he will always have to take into consideration his pet’s needs before going anywhere.

 Pros:

·         Helps students learn the value of money and hard work before they are expected to be supporting themselves independently

·         Provides students with spending money for clothes, music, hanging out with friends, etc.

·         Empowers students by showing them the value of their labor and their ability to earn money.

·         Potentially exposes students to different fields of employment or walks of life than they might come across in interacting with their family and at school.

    

Cons:

·         Part time work can interfere with school work or valuable after school activities.

·         Overly committed kids may become unnecessarily stressed, and their health or grades could suffer.
